Lensant monitors the news and web. We scan most news websites—including low-circulation outlets—in essentially real-time, and we continuously monitor the open web.
We scan blog posts, forums, review sites, and other public web content. tWhile we can't guarantee that we'll find everything, we'll find mostly everything. A good rule of thumb is that if Google search can find it, so can Lensant.
Lensant does not monitor Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or any other site that requires authentication to view. If you're looking to monitor social media, your best option is to use Lensant in addition to a dedicated social media alerting tool.
Facebook and Twitter charge extremely high prices to scan their content—millions of dollars per year and more, in some cases. Given that social media rarely contains useful information for small businesses that can't be gleaned from a simple search, we simply can't justify the cost.
If you need additional functionality not provided by Lensant's self-serve interface, we're happy to build a custom trigger for you. Custom triggers can filter for just about anything, and support boolean compositions and Regex matching. Please email [email protected] to request a custom-built trigger. Depending on the complexity of your request, there may be a small fee—but we'll tell you about this beforehand.
We're often asked how Lensant is different from Google Alerts. The answer is simple: Google alerts only scans what Google News aggregates, while Lensant scans scans the web and the news. Lensant is also far more powerful: we provide match metrics, weekly digests, smart quality filtering, partial and literal matches, and negative filtering.
We will always refund your latest bill, no questions asked. For example, if you're subscribed to a $18.99/mo plan, we will at any time refund $18.99 to cover your last month of service. (This means that if you forget about your subscription and are charged before you remember to cancel, you can still get a refund.)

Please do not initiate a chargeback with your credit card company; it causes a headache for us, and might lead to your card being declined by other online vendors who use our payment processor (Stripe). Just ask us for a refund—we will happily give it to you. ****
